“Companion(s) with Disabilities”
As part of the Faculty’s 2026 social responsibility activities, a seminar titled “Companion(s) with Disabilities” was held for women on 22 January 2026. The seminar was organized by Jamila Joraeva, a staff member of the KTMU Faculty of Theology, together with female students.
During the seminar, Baktigul Mamadaminova delivered a presentation on the topic “Companions with Disabilities,” providing examples of Companions who had visual, speech and hearing impairments, orthopedic disabilities, and intellectual disabilities. Despite their disabilities, their contributions and services to Islam were highlighted, and several examples from contemporary life were also presented. At the end of the seminar, recommendations were made on drawing lessons and inspiration from these accounts.
At the conclusion of the seminar, refreshments were offered to the participants. Approximately 100 women attended the event, which was followed with great interest. The organizers stated that the program would continue every Thursday at the same time.
