KTMU Faculty of Theology Launches 22-Program "Our World of Faith" Series for the Spring 2025 Term

The Faculty of Theology at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University successfully carried out a social responsibility project in the Spring semester of 2025, titled “World of Faith”. The program consisted of 22 radio episodes, broadcast daily on Manas Radio from January 1 to June 30, 2025, at 21:05.

The program was coordinated by Prof. Dr. Kemal Polat and hosted by Ulanbek Kalmurza Uulu. In each broadcast, different scholars addressed the fundamental beliefs and moral values of Islam.

The programs explored Islam’s core beliefs and ethical principles, the history of Islamic schools of thought, religious practices connected to social structures, and Kyrgyz folk culture. One of the main goals of the project was to introduce the broader public to two of the greatest figures of Islamic thought: Imam al-A‘zam Abu Hanifa and Imam al-Maturidi. Within this framework, the intellectual system of Abu Hanifa, the founder of Hanafi jurisprudence, was explained. The rational interpretations of Imam al-Maturidi and his methodological approach to the principles of faith were also examined in detail. Participating academics presented the topics in a scholarly yet clear and accessible manner for the general audience.

The aim of the series was to foster a correct and sustainable understanding of religion in society, thereby strengthening peace, brotherhood, and social harmony. In addition, the programs addressed the fundamental principles of Islam, their relationship with individual and social life, moral values, and contemporary religious issues from a scientific perspective.

This series of broadcasts contributed to promoting tolerance and a culture of living together in diversity. It helped prevent misinformation in religious matters and encouraged conscious and constructive approaches instead of disputes and conflicts.
