Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University’s Faculty of Engineering hosted a welcome program for 1st-year students titled “Welcome to Engineering.” The program was held at the KTMU Congress and Culture Center and attended by KTMU Deputy Rector Prof. Dr. Almaz Ibraev, Secretary-General Dr. Fatih Ramazan İstanbullugil, faculty management, academicians, and many students.
The program began with the singing of the national anthems of the two brotherly countries, followed by the screening of the university promotional film. KTMU Deputy Rector Prof. Dr. Almaz Ibraev, in his opening speech to the students, emphasized the importance of university life: “Welcome to the Manas Family. This will be one of the most important times in your life. Here, you will add value to your personal development, not only by acquiring academic knowledge. You are representatives of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, and you will be recognized by this identity.”
Faculty of Engineering Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nurzat Totubaeva stated: “Your decision to join this esteemed university reflects your desire to create significant projects and develop new ideas. Our university is a platform where new projects come to life. Every interaction is an opportunity for innovative thinking.” Dean Totubaeva concluded her speech: “Take advantage of the experience of our teachers and strive to be successful.”
An attractive part of the event was the awarding of students who achieved high academic performance. The Head of the Department congratulated them and presented certificates and various awards.
In particular, students of Environmental Engineering Amir Tairov and Sevarahon Umarova were honored with a special certificate for their “Aylana Cycle” project, which earned second place at the Urban Marathon 2025.
After the official ceremony, a concert prepared by students was showcased. The event provided a strong start, motivating students in their academic life and encouraging their creativity.
