The current state of Kyrgyz forests

On December 3, 2025, in the Biology Department, a seminar titled “Current State of Kyrgyz Forests” was conducted by PhD, Associate Professor Almagul Kendirbayeva. During the seminar, the following general information was presented:

“The forests of the Kyrgyz Republic are a national treasure of the Kyrgyz people. Forests are state property and play a significant role in economic development, environmental protection, and improving the population’s living conditions. They serve as a source that satisfies part of the country’s demand for timber and other forest products, positively affecting the climate, atmosphere, hydrological regime of water bodies, and protecting the soil from water and wind erosion. The forests of the republic are also important for strengthening human health. They meet the cultural and aesthetic needs of the population and have become a popular destination for tourists. In the territory of the republic, there are pine, juniper, walnut-fruit, and valley-pasture forests.”

At the end of the seminar, students participated in discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and a debate on current issues facing Kyrgyz forests.
