CCAMTAC Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Holger FLOERKEMEIER Delivered a Seminar at KTMU


Holger Floerkemeier, Director of the Caucasus, Central Asia and Mongolia Regional Capacity Development Center (CCAMTAC) of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), delivered a seminar for students of the Department of Economics on 27 January 2026.

The seminar addressed the main objectives, functions, and role of the International Monetary Fund in the global economy. In addition, students were provided with comprehensive information on the IMF’s capacity development activities in the Caucasus, Central Asia, and Mongolia region, its technical assistance programs, and its efforts aimed at strengthening economic stability.

The seminar attracted strong interest from students. Through practical examples, the IMF’s cooperation mechanisms with member countries, its contributions to strengthening fiscal and monetary policies, and its role in regional development processes were explained. The program concluded with a question-and-answer session.

It was noted that the seminar made a significant contribution to enhancing the knowledge and awareness of economics students regarding international financial institutions.
