The Industrial Engineering Department has held another significant event with the goal of bringing current industrial trends and academic developments to its students. On Thursday, November 13, 2025, a seminar titled "Reverse Logistics and Its Applications in Supply Chain Management" was organized in the MFFB-128 laboratory of the Faculty of Engineering. The seminar, delivered by one of our department's faculty members, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bahar Özyörük, attracted great interest from students and academics.
In the seminar that began at 10:00 AM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özyörük emphasized the definition of reverse logistics and its critical role in today's supply chains. Highlighting the growing importance of the topic in the context of sustainability, the rise of e-commerce, and circular economy models, Özyörük explained fundamental application areas such as product return management, recycling processes, remanufacturing, and waste valorization with successful examples. The presentation revealed the potential of reverse logistics operations to reduce costs and create new revenue streams.
The event, which proceeded interactively with questions from the participants, concluded at 12:00 PM. While providing students with a strategic perspective on supply chain management, the seminar also became a valuable step in preparing them for the future challenges and opportunities of the industry. The event once again demonstrated the department's emphasis on innovative and current topics.
