"Welcome" Event for New Students of the Industrial Engineering Department
The Industrial Engineering Department organized a welcome and orientation event for its first-year students who began their education in the 2025-2026 academic year. The event, initiated by second-year students, was held on Monday, October 13, 2025, to strengthen inter-class communication and solidarity within the department. The primary objective of the event was to facilitate the adaptation of new students to the department and university life and to offer a warm welcome.
The program, held between 15:00 and 18:00 in the A-201 meeting room of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, was attended by the Head of the Industrial Engineering Department, Selçuk Gören, and the advisor for first-year students, Bahar Özyörük. During the formal part of the program, upper-year students and new students introduced themselves, while Head of Department Gören and advisor Özyörük delivered motivational messages in their speeches, wishing the students success in their new academic year. The informal part of the event featured engaging activities such as a Kahoot quiz and an arm-wrestling tournament, followed by refreshments for all students.
The event, conducted in a sincere and friendly atmosphere, allowed students to socialize with each other. The organization successfully achieved its goals of contributing to the new students' sense of belonging to the department and strengthening the bonds among existing students. The event proved to be a productive, enjoyable, and memorable start for all participants.
