The fifth seminar in the series, organized by the Faculty of Theology at Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University to introduce the Hanafi-Maturidi understanding of religion and contribute to religious education activities in the region, took place on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 3:30 PM at the Faculty of Theology. The seminar was attended by numerous instructors working with the female Quran study course teachers in Bishkek.

This week's speaker was  Dr. Aitimamat Kаriev, a faculty member of the Faculty of Theology at KTMU. In his presentation titled "Hanafi Tradition in Central Asia," Kariev discussed the historical roots of the Hanafi tradition in Central Asia, its development process, and its impact on the region's societies. He emphasized how the spread of the Hanafi madhhab in Central Asia aligned with the region's cultural and social structures. Special attention was given to the role of scholars raised in academic centers such as Bukhara, Samarkand, and Tashkent in establishing and strengthening this tradition. Additionally, he highlighted the relationship between the Maturidi theological understanding and Hanafi jurisprudence, showing how these two systems of thought shaped each other in the region.

At the end of the seminar, participants asked several questions and exchanged views on the topic.
