Rector of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University (KTMU) Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan and Deputy Rector Prof. Dr. Almaz Ibraev paid a visit to the Minister of Health of Kyrgyz Republic Dr. Damirbek Osmonov.
During the meeting, the strategic role of KTMU’s Faculty of Medicine in training future healthcare professionals, its contribution to the country’s qualified human resources, and its potential to support the development of regional healthcare systems were discussed. The university’s overall academic achievements and its steadily strengthening international standing were also evaluated.
KTMU Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan highlighted the Faculty of Medicine’s education system, which is aligned with international academic standards, its integrated curriculum model, clinical training processes, and its approach centered on professional competence. He stated that this model, which combines theoretical knowledge with practical training, prepares students to meet the evolving demands of modern healthcare systems. He also emphasized that ongoing scientific research, interdisciplinary studies, and student-centered educational opportunities are positioning the university as an emerging regional hub in medical education.
KTMU’s International Vision Emphasized
The meeting also addressed Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University’s quality-oriented education approach, its vision for internationalization, and the success of its graduates. Deputy Rector Prof. Dr. Almaz Ibraev noted that Manas University, which hosts students from various countries and continuously enhances its research capacity, is a significant higher education institution not only for Kyrgyzstan but also for the Turkic World and surrounding regions.
Shared Priorities in Healthcare and Research
As part of the visit, views were exchanged on topics such as the development of the healthcare workforce, applied scientific research, professional training programs, and institutional partnerships. The parties agreed that strengthening cooperation between universities and national healthcare systems would generate long-term societal benefits.
