With the slogan “More Than Just a University,” Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University continues to warm hearts not only through education but also through community service, hosting its traditional charity fair every year.
Distinguished not only for its academic achievements but also for its social awareness, Manas University organized a meaningful charity fair on September 29, 2025, accompanied by colorful performances from the Folk Dance Ensemble.
Solidarity and Brotherhood: Turkish and Kyrgyz Cuisine at Manas University
Organized under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Nezahat Ceylan from the Department of History of the Faculty of Humanities, the food fair offered hope for orphanages and students in need within the university, while once again strengthening the spirit of social solidarity and mutual support.
Held at the Oba Garden on the Chyngyz Aitmatov Campus, the food fair was prepared by the generous personnel of Manas University, the Embassy of Türkiye in Bishkek, and the Bishkek Kyrgyz-Turkish Friendship Hospital. It attracted great interest thanks to the active participation of students, academic staff, and administrative personnel.
Manas University: Warm Hearts Through Student-Centered Education
The program began with an opening speech by Rector of Manas University, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan. Emphasizing the university’s student-centered approach to education, Rector Prof. Dr. Ceylan stated: "Our students are our most valuable treasure. We are always proud of them and wish their success to continue growing. As administrators and academics, we will continue to work with all our strength to help them achieve their goals."
Prof. Dr. Ceylan also expressed his gratitude to all individuals and institutions involved in organizing the charity fair, affirming that Manas University will continue to warm hearts and contribute to society through its social responsibility projects.
Deputy Rector Prof. Dr. Almaz İbraev highlighted that the food fair is an important part of the educational process. Prof. Dr. İbraev said: "This fair offers a great opportunity to showcase our culture. Today, we have the chance to explore the cuisines not only of Kyrgyzstan and Türkiye but of all Turkic peoples." He thanked the organizers and participants and wished the event every success.
Fadim Şen, who contributed to organizing the fair, delivered a speech on behalf of the generous personnel supporting the event. Emphasizing the motto “More Than Just a University,” Şen said: "Undoubtedly, the giving hand is superior to the receiving hand. Kindness grows when shared."
In her speech, she extended heartfelt thanks to Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan, Prof. Dr. Nezahat Ceylan, representatives of the Turkish Embassy, the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Bishkek Kyrgyz-Turkish Friendship Hospital, the Turkish Red Crescent, and the generous women of the Manas family who supported the fair.
Accompanied by the unique flavors of Turkish and Kyrgyz cuisine, the event offered joyful moments to participants through colorful performances, creating a warm and peaceful atmosphere on campus.
Additionally, Manas University students who volunteered at the fair experienced the pride of participating in social responsibility activities and sharing acts of kindness. The lively horon performances and concerts presented by the Folk Dance Ensemble added a special vibrancy to the event.
In line with its “More Than Just a University” vision, Manas University continues to organize such social responsibility activities annually, contributing both to students in need and to society at large.
