Manas University Hosts Conference on “The Importance of Accreditation in Higher Education”

On 11 July 2025, Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University held a significant conference titled “The Importance of Accreditation in Higher Education” at the Rectorate Conference Hall. The event featured Prof. Dr. Ümit Kocabıçak, President of the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK), as the keynote speaker. The conference attracted strong interest from university administrators, as well as academic and administrative staff.

In his opening remarks, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Recai Doğan emphasized that Manas University views the accreditation process not merely as a technical evaluation, but as an integral part of its institutional identity, vision, and social responsibility. Emphasizing that quality assurance is not limited to documents and forms, Prof. Dr. Doğan described it as a concrete expression of the university’s commitment to self-assessment, institutional development, and continuous progress. Prof. Dr. Doğan also noted that the university pursues accreditation rigorously, both at the program and institutional levels, with active participation from all academic and administrative units.

During the conference, Prof. Dr. Ümit Kocabıçak provided an in-depth overview of the scope of programmatic and institutional accreditation in higher education institutions. He discussed the operation of quality assurance systems, the influence of artificial intelligence technologies on these processes, and the key activities undertaken by the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council.

Prof. Dr. Kocabıçak underscored that Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University’s engagement in the institutional accreditation process will further strengthen its quality culture.

The conference concluded with the presentation of a certificate of appreciation and a commemorative group photo.
