Cybersecurity Awareness Training at KTMU
On March 27, 2025, the Continuing Education Center of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University organized a seminar titled “Cybersecurity Awareness Training.” The seminar was conducted by the Head of the Department of Computer Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rita Ismailova, and attracted significant interest from academicians, administrative staff, and students.
During the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ismailova provided participants with an overview of key concepts in cybersecurity, commonly used terminology in the field, and various threats prevalent in the digital world. She also addressed contemporary topics such as cyberspace, cybercrime, and hackers, offering detailed insights into each.
Particular emphasis was placed on “phishing,” one of the most widespread cyber threats today. Participants received practical advice on how to recognize and protect themselves against online scams, along with general tips for safe internet usage.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ismailova emphasized that, with the rapid advancement of technology, the digital threats individuals face are also increasing. She highlighted that cybersecurity is no longer a purely technical domain but has become an essential aspect of everyday life.
The seminar, which garnered great interest from the participants, concluded with the presentation of a certificate of appreciation to the speaker and a group photo to commemorate the occasion.
