Guidance and Psychological Counseling Department Undergraduate Program 2nd and 3rd year students (total 39 students) visited the Child Rehabilitation and Family Protection Center located at Belarusskaya 121, Bishkek, on March 27, 2025. They went to the school under the guidance of Dr. Kadiyan BOOBEKOVA, Lecturer at the Faculty of Letters, Department of Educational Sciences, as agreed beforehand.

The Director of the Child Rehabilitation and Family Protection Center Cholpon Sırtbaevna ARIKPAEVA, Deputy Director Asel Jetimişovna AŞIRBAEVA and teachers, educators, doctors, nurses, babysitters, and some parents working in this institution were interviewed to obtain detailed information about the status, characteristics of this center, children, their education, care, and health. Deputy Director Aşırbaeva provided detailed information to RPD students about the institution, center, its history, characteristics, conditions and opportunities, children, admission status, etc.
RPD students asked questions to the principal, vice principal and other employees about the subjects they were curious about and received additional information. Later, they had RPD students visit the rooms so that they could see the developmental characteristics of children of different groups and ages up close and on site. They helped our students to watch the activities carried out in that institution, to get to know the students and thus to gain more visual information about knowing the characteristics of children in need of special education and providing guidance in Special Education. The center generally houses children who have been abandoned by their parents, unwanted children or children who have been taken into the state by separating them from their parents. While a total of 60 children with mild and moderate Down syndrome, autism, spasticity, physical disabilities and mental and developmental retardation, some behavioral disorders are registered; 250 children between 0-5 who are retarded in terms of linguistic, mental and psychomotor development receive training every day for rehabilitation, massage, physical therapy and other services. In that center, not only children are educated but also mothers and fathers are educated. It was learned that some children were babies in swaddling clothes, some were 1-1.5: 2-3: 3-4 years old, and generally there were children with various developmental delays up to the age of 4-5. They stated that RPD students had the opportunity to do internships, that they could come if they wanted to work, that there were insufficient babysitters, that they needed constant help to play or walk the children outside in the garden, that some of them could not walk yet and were bedridden. They said that they could come to work in the future. RPD students toured the garden in the institution, saw and observed various groups, learned a lot of new information and then shared their feelings. It is possible to say that the trip was very productive. The students left this trip very emotional, and stated that the trip was effective and useful for them.
