A seminar titled “Green Journalism: The Power of Environment-Oriented Journalism” was organized


The seminar titled “Green Journalism: The Power of Environment-Oriented Journalism” was organized by the Department of Journalism of the Faculty of Communication at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University. During the event, the importance of conveying environmental issues to the public through the media in an accurate, ethical, and scientifically grounded manner was discussed, and the role of environmental journalism in today’s media practices was comprehensively evaluated.

Within the scope of the seminar, the news-making processes of key environmental topics such as the climate crisis, environmental pollution, the protection of natural resources, and sustainability were examined. Particular emphasis was placed on producing content based on scientific data, using responsible language, and adhering to the principle of public interest in environmental reporting; practical evaluations were conducted through local and international examples.

The event was held with the active participation of students from the Faculty of Communication, and an interactive learning environment was created through Q&A and discussion sessions. The seminar contributed to raising students’ awareness of environment-oriented journalism and to developing their professional perspectives.
