The “Janyryk” Literature Club was founded in 2006 by students of the Department of Turkology at the suggestion of Prof. Dr. Layli Ükübayeva, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University.
The club’s primary mission is to promote literary development by uniting individuals with a deep interest in literature. To fulfill this mission, the club regularly organizes poetry events that bring together contemporary poets and students, sparking dialogue and enhancing young people’s interest in the literary arts. These events are held in warm, vibrant settings—and occasionally in the scenic mountains, where members share poetry in the open air, creating unforgettable literary experiences.
Beyond literature, the club is also dedicated to maintaining and celebrating the cultural heritage of the mother tongue—its values, traditions, and folk songs. One standout initiative was the “Kyz-Jigit Sarmerden” event, held on February 21 to mark International Mother Language Day. The event captured public attention and underscored the club’s cultural significance.
The “Janyryk” Literature Club is more than a student organization—it is a cultural movement that strengthens identity and inspires youth through the power of literature.
