On November 20, 2024 at the Department of Catering and Culinary Arts of Kyrgyz-Turkish University “Manas” held a round table “Culinary Education: Realities and Prospects”, to which representatives of private businesses were invited.
Bekturova Nurkyz and Sharipov Shukhrat talked about the level of culinary education expected of employees in private catering enterprises. The issues of international cooperation and food festivals, shortage of qualified culinary teachers were also discussed, and senior lecturer of the Academy of Tourism Kushnareva I.M. presented the problems of culinary vocational education.The report of Turdubekova S.U. and Isakova D.B. presented the main problems of culinary education, and Candidate of Economic Sciences Samatova G.K. and Turganbaeva N.K. discussed the issues of catering statistics and requirements for graduates. Professor Kydyraliev N.A. reflected all the comments and emphasized the importance of integrating theoretical knowledge with practical skills for successful training of specialists in the field of culinary.In conclusion, the participants agreed on the need for further cooperation between educational institutions and business representatives to improve the quality of culinary education in the country. The discussion ended with an exchange of views on possible ways of development and implementation of new standards in training programs.
